The black serval has captivated the attention of many with its stunning appearance. It’s not surprising that onlookers are reminded of the legendary black cat often featured in African folk tales.
Not long ago, George Turner, a wildlife photographer, had a remarkable experience when he came across an exceptionally rare black serval. This particular type of serval might be the only one of its kind globally, as its entire body is covered in a deep black fur that’s both striking and enigmatic, much like a mythical black cat. The encounter took place in Tanzania’s Namirri Plains, and unlike other servals that have spotted coats similar to leopards, this serval’s jet-black coat is incredibly captivating.
